Make your wedding timeline

A successful wedding is all in the details. As you plan your special day, be sure to allow enough time to handle any unexpected delays or changes in plans. Use this timeline to help keep your wedding planning on track.

8 to 12 months in advance: Select a wedding date, tour reception and ceremony sites and book your selection. Make arrangements for hotel rooms for out-of-town guests. Shop for your wedding gown. Invite friends or family members to be part of your bridal party.

4 months in advance: Research menu offerings. Develop your guest list. Meet with the florist.

3 months in advance: Finalize your guest list and menu selection.

2 months in advance: Send out your wedding invitations.

1 month in advance: Finalize your rehearsal dinner arrangements.

2 weeks in advance: Finalize ceremony details, flower arrangements, guest count and menu selections.

On the big day: Relax and enjoy! All your planning and attention to detail have paid off.
