The Children’s Concerts series on Tuesday mornings is one of the only child-themed concert series in the area and the 2014 series features Caspar Babypants, Recess Monkeys and We are the Not It’s. On Thursday evenings, watch the sun set over Lake Washington and the Olympic Mountains while enjoying a picnic in the park complemented by toe-tapping music at the Evening Concerts. Suggested $2 donation.

Kirkland Shamrock Run 5K Race & Family Fun Run
Marina Park 
Run or Walk your way through beautiful Kirkland in celebration of St. Patrick's Day at the Annual Kirkland Shamrock Run! The course starts at Marina Park and runs through Kirkland with vistas of the Olympic Mountains and Lake Washington. Dress up to join the sea of green and find a pot of gold at the finish line!

Mother’s Day Weekend | Local Galleries and Studios
Held every Mother’s Day weekend, the self-guided Kirkland Artist Studio Tour (KAST) features a variety of art mediums including jewelry, glass art, paintings, ceramics, photography, metalwork, pottery, and printmaking. Artists will be hard at work at studios and galleries around town. Pick up your free map at Kirkland Arts Center (620 Market St.) or KAC Store (336 Parkplace Center). Free.

The Kirkland Mother’s Day Half Marathon & 5K is a Kirkland Mother's Day tradition. Runners and walkers of all skill levels participate in this scenic and supportive running and walking event. Join in the fun at Kirkland’s annual Fourth of July celebration featuring a “decorate to celebrate” event for kids at Marina Park Pavilion, followed by a parade, live music, Rotary Duck Dash and a picnic. The evening finishes off with a fantastic fireworks display over Marina Park with viewing from Kirkland’s bountiful waterfront parks.

The 12th Annual Kirkland Classic Car show, presented by Kirkland Downtown Association and hosted by Legends Car Club is one of the largest car show events on the Eastside. More than 600 hot rods and classic cars will be parked along Marina Park and downtown Kirkland. Free.

Jr Softball World SeriesJunior Softball World Series
Everest Park 
Held annually in Kirkland—teams from around the world will compete this August in the weeklong Junior League Softball World Series Championship. Opening Day begins Sunday, Aug. 10. Championship playoffs will be held Saturday, Aug. 16, broadcast by ESPN. Free.




Park to Park Open Water Swim 
Swim ends at O.O. Denny Park 
The Park to Park swim is a fun, non-competitive 1.42-mile swim across Lake Washington from Matthews Beach, Seattle, to O.O. Denny Park, Kirkland. Proceeds from the swim benefit the Emergency Patient Assistance Fund at Seattle Children's Hospital.

Splash Pedal n’ Dash Kirkland Kids’ Triathlon

Kids ages 3–12 can swim/splash, bike and run in this triathlon that is just for them! The triathlon includes a 50-yard swim/splash in Lake Washington, a half-mile bike ride, and a 400-yard run. All segments will be in the park, so kids feel safe and spectators can catch all the fun.
