The 17th Annual American Impressionist Society National Juried Exhibition will be held September 29 through October 30, 2016, at the beautiful Howard Mandville Gallery, 120 Park Lane, Ste #D, in Kirkland, Washington. In 2015, over $63,000 in cash and merchandise awards were be presented, including $12,000 cash award for Best of Show. Membership in AIS is required in order to be eligible for artists to submit entries.
This year’s exhibition will feature between 160 and 180 juried paintings which represent the best of works of American Impressionism being produced today. An additional 20 paintings by AIS Masters, Officers and Founders will also be included in the exhibition. The online catalog of the entire exhibition will be available for viewing on the AIS website’s 2016 Show page.
The opening reception will be held on Thursday, September 29, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Howard Mandville Gallery. Our 2016 Judge of Awards, AIS Master Calvin Liang, will give painting demonstration on Friday, September 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. also at the gallery. Both events are free of charge and open to the public.
Several other programs, presentations, and a workshop, which are open to AIS members, are also planned in conjunction with the reception week activities. These will all be listed on the AIS website on the 2016 show page as the events are confirmed.

Artist memberships are open to American Impressionist artists who are United States residents, or US citi-zens living abroad. Master Artist members are invited by the AIS Board of Directors and may use the initials “AISM” after their name. Masters are selected carefully, are nationally known and considered to be leaders in the art community. They epitomize the highest level of impressionism and passionately give back to the soci-ety by sharing their knowledge.
