  • Start in the Totem Lake neighborhood and check in to nearby Courtyard Marriott (11215 NE 124th Street, Kirkland, WA).
  • Then you can head to “The Alley” (11905 124th Avenue NE) where ryan james fine arts is nestled amongst the Kirkland Warehouse Wineries. Catch the latest show opening at the gallery and be sure to check out Northwest Cellars Winery with different artists, music, bites and wine.

  • Explore downtown and do a self-guided art tour with STQRY. Download the interactive app or a Public Art Walking Tour guide.
  • Check in early for Friday and Saturday night at the Heathman Hotel (220 Kirkland Avenue, 425.284.5800) in Downtown Kirkland—where they not only offer an Art of Sleep Bed Menu but you can enjoy the art of tea with Afternoon Tea in the lobby from noon to 4 p.m.
  • Then head to the downtown Kirkland’s Art Walk, and enjoy galleries Park Lane Gallery and the new Park Lane Outdoor Sculpture Gallery.
  • Round out the evening with some performing arts at the Kirkland Performance Center—created to bring the highest quality, professional music, theatre and dance to the Eastside.
  • Still in the mood for some art but ready to wind down? Be sure to check out some artisan cocktails at an Eastside premier relaxation destination VoVina—A Vodka and Wine Tasting Martini Bar (15 Lake Street, 425.822.2221).

Saturday it’s time to get your own creative juices flowing—and so many options! Be sure to sign up in advance before your trip as many of these sell out with these enticing choices:
  • Canvas Paint & Sip in downtown Kirkland often offers a Mimosa Morning class where you can create your own work of art while enjoying a mimosa. They provide everything you need along with helpful instruction to create your own masterpiece. (They also have evening classes.)
  • Be sure to check Kirkland Art Center Classes in ceramics, print making or painting—while many are multiple sessions they sometimes have single session Art & Wine for Adults, Art History Lectures, or just a chance to check out their latest art show.
  • Be your own Plein-Air Painter! Grab the supplies you need at nearby Michaels Arts & Crafts, (9755 Juanita Drive NE,) and head to nearby Juanita Beach for a truly inspiring view.
  • Whichever you choose—one or all—plan a dinner at the award winning Volterra Restaurant—Contemporary Italian Dining & Drinks. You may want to make a reservation as Don Curtiss has been called “One of America’s Most Innovative Chefs,” by Wine Spectator.

  • Now’s your chance to catch up on any Public Art you may have missed, pick up that one-of-a-kind art piece you decided you had to have, or just relax in the art of nature in one of Kirkland’s many parks before you head out of town.
