Tell us about yourself!
Originally from Bellevue but now a Kirkland resident for the past 14 years. My past experience includes staging for retail store displays, interior decorating and working for a former consignment store in Bellevue.

Found InteriorsWhat inspired you to open your store?
Blooming Home which was a former furniture consignment store in my same location several years ago. They have since closed their doors but I always knew it was a great business model and a wonderful source of unique, high-end furniture and accessories not found in a typical furniture and home décor store. We still have customers today telling us about the great pieces they found at Blooming Home and how much they enjoy shopping consignment.

Describe your store:
Found Interiors is a unique, high-end furniture and home décor store featuring a wide range of antique to contemporary pieces at 50% or more off retail pricing. It doesn’t look like your typical furniture consignment shop because of the quality of the items. Customers ask all the time if the furnishings are new or consignment. It’s a wonderful complement to our selective acceptance process.

Tell us about your customers:
They enjoy the constantly changing inventory, quality and style of the items, and the amazing prices. Our customers range from interior decorators and stagers to local residents who love the thrill of finding a fabulous deal.

What is your favorite thing about being a small business owner?
The network of other small women owned businesses in Kirkland. We know we are all in it together and support each other with everything from referrals to day-to-day business practices.

Why did you choose to open your store in Kirkland?
Our store originally opened in downtown Seattle but I have lived in Kirkland for the past 14 years, so it was an easy choice once I came across the amazing historical building we are in today. There is no other city that can compare to Kirkland with its walkability, charming boutique shops and wonderful restaurants. Visiting Kirkland makes my customers feel like they are on vacation!

What advice would you give to aspiring business owners?
Write a thorough business plan and keep rewriting until you have covered every base. There is so much thought that must go into this before you open your doors.

What is a current product you are really excited about right now?
Our inventory has never been better with the real estate market booming! With everyone moving it pushes more inventory our way which provides a fabulous selection for our customers.
