A paradise for art lovers, Kirkland's ambiance and commitment to the arts is extraordinary. In town find a number of outstanding fine art galleries, a premier performing arts center, the Kirkland Arts Center and a number of organizations devoted to arts and culture. The Kirkland Gallery Association presents the highest standards in representation, procurement and sales of fine art. Its member galleries are diverse, handling a wide range of outstanding regional and nationally acclaimed artists for every collector. The galleries also host their popular ArtWalk every second Thursday of the month from 6:00–8:00 p.m. featuring many of the country's top artists.
Kirkland's many creative public outdoor works of art can often stop you in mid-step. Whimsical, dynamic and poignant art sculptures by leading regional and nationally known artists are dotted throughout Kirkland in its city parks, sidewalks and alongside the waterfront. Look out for a pair of bronze grizzlies roaming in the middle of downtown, children gleefully leaping over a never ending puddle, and giant hares taking a breather on the street corner.
