350 Kirkland Ave, Kirkland, WA 98033

Join us on Saturday, February 5 for a night of relaxing and nostalgic music as we gather to experience the first post-pandemic Persian concert in the Seattle area! Reza Rohani and Sara Naeini will be performing many old favorites with new arrangements, and new material backed by a group of World-Class musicians.

About the Artists

Reza Rohani, son of the famous Iranian composer Anoushirvan Rohani, was born in 1977 in a family surrounded by music. At the age of fifteen he left his hometown Tehran towards Germany to fulfill his dream of studying classical music. After finishing school and spending three years in the Bavarian college for music, he fell in love with jazz and this has since defined his professional life. After the college he went on to the Hochschule fuer Musik und Theater in Hanover where he graduated in 2005. Going back to Iran after his graduation, he founded one of the most celebrated newcomer bands in the Iranian instrumental music scene called Beyond the Moon, featuring Koroush Babaei, Homayoun Nasiri, Dara Daraei. In 2010, he moved to the US and in the year of 2012 he started his Master Certificate Program at Berklee College of Music in “Composing and Arranging for Film and TV” where he graduated from in 2014. He also tours with his father Anoushirvan Rohani, as arranger and the leader of the ensemble. About his music he says: “I am trying not to simply mix the two musical cultures, but to transcend them both by creating a new musical genre in which one can find both Persian and Jazz roots outside the traditional limits. In effect, I am trying to be a composer without borders.”

Sara Naeini (aka Saranin) is a professional singer known for her powerful and angelic voice. Sara classifies her musical genre as Pop mixed with Jazz and Classical influences. Born in 1981, in Shiraz, Iran, Saras mother, Hourvash Khalili, is a renowned Folklore singer and her father is a calligraphist. Sara started singing at the young age of 5. While in Iran, she performed as a backup singer alongside distinguished singers and bands some of which include Alireza Assar, Khajenouri borthers, Hami, Piccolo, Rama, and Varan. Since women are prohibited to perform as solo artists in Iran, Sara decided to move to the United Stated to further pursue her passion in music. She has been residing in Los Angeles, California since 2013 and since then, has collaborated with Reza Rohani, the outstanding pianist and composer who carries the legacy of his father, Anoushiravan Rohani. Sara has performed in many concerts and has released beautiful songs with lyrics and melodies that evoke many emotions such as love and hope. Among her many memorable performances are songs titled Bayad Del Sepord, Nafas, Jadoo, Asheghe Khoondan, and Man O To. Other than in Farsi, Sara also performs in English and has been inspired by many artists such as Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera, Damien Rice, and Jason Mraz. Sara also enjoys sharing her gift and unique singing techniques as a vocal instructor in Los Angeles and has been/is a vocal coach to many professional singers and music enthusiasts.
