Sundaes Outside Returns to Bridle Trails State Park on June 22nd
Golden Bricks Events (GBE) celebrates Black community, culture, and joy in the outdoors

GBE invites community members of all ages to gather for Sundaes Outside: A Celebration of Black Folks, an outdoor celebration taking place Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Bridle Trails State Park in Kirkland. This free, family-friendly event features ice cream, music, creativity, games, and opportunities to connect with local Black-owned businesses and community organizations.

Now in its second year at Bridle Trails, Sundaes Outside celebrates the intersections of Black identity, outdoor culture, and collective joy. The event series was created to make outdoor spaces more accessible, welcoming, and affirming for Black communities, while inviting all to celebrate Black cultural contributions.

"The Sundaes Outside series is always a powerful reminder of how joyful and healing it is to gather in nature.” say Nikky Martin, Sundaes Outside Event Planner, “I’ve witnessed people feel deeply at ease in the outdoors, try something new, and share experiences that stay with them long after the event ends. Every Sundaes Outside event celebrates and uplifts the Black community, and Bridle Trails especially has unique offerings like complimentary horse rides thanks to the Buffalo Soldiers."

Attendees can look forward to a special appearance by The Buffalo Soldiers of Seattle, who will offer complimentary horse rides and share stories honoring Black horsemanship and history. The event will also feature local artists, vendors, and cultural leaders, plus an ice cream social with the Golden Bricks Events team.

An Annual or One-Day Discover Pass is required for vehicle access. Passes are available online or at the park entrance.
