Name That Venue! Your Guide to The Venues For Umbrella Fringe
Starting in the evening of October 3, Umbrella Fringe will spread throughout downtown Kirkland in a multitude of venues with all types of art to enjoy. Here’s a little bit about each venue:
Kirkland Performance Center

Kirkland Performance Center is a theater space dedicated to bringing world-class performances to the Eastside. KPC hosts a diverse lineup of live music, theater, dance, and comedy. Beyond performances, KPC supports arts education and local artists, serving as a repository that continues to build the Eastside’s live performance landscape.
KPC will kick off Umbrella Fringe with Good Day Sunshine’s performance of the entire Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album by the Beatles.
Kirkland Arts Center

Housed in the historic Peter Kirk Building in downtown Kirkland, the Kirkland Arts Center is a community touchstone for creating and experiencing art. The KAC allows artists of all skill levels to explore their creativity through conventional arts like ceramics, printmaking and painting as well as foray into digital creations. Its galleries showcase local, regional, and national artists, fostering community dialog and cultural exchange.
Performances at the KAC will include spoken word, classic rock covers, Indian dance, storytelling, a humorous presentation, and stand-up comedy.
Kirkland Urban

Kirkland Urban is a thoughtful collection of mixed-use buildings in downtown Kirkland that blend work, life, and community. Its walkable plazas create a lively neighborhood atmosphere, inviting people to gather, connect, and enjoy year-round festivals, pop-up markets, and performances.
Kirkland Urban will host a full roster of events including the MOD art show, acoustic and electronic music performances, champion-level beat boxing, multimedia dance, storytelling, spoken word with soundscapes, and improv comedy.
Moss Bay Hall

Moss Bay Hall is an intimate restaurant and performance space in the heart of downtown. It’s designed for visitors to enjoy premium takes on causal cuisine, socialize with their neighbors, and build relationships with local musicians and storytellers.
Moss Bay Hall will host a wide variety of music including rock, folk, Latin, jazz, funk, R&B, and almost anything else you can think of to get your groove on. In addition, the Hall will host an evening of collaborative storytelling.
KTUB

The Kirkland Teen Union Building (KTUB) is a dedicated space for teens to explore their interests and identities. The center offers music and art programs, recreation, group outings, as well as community and behavioral support services. With its focus on inclusion and collaboration, KTUB helps young people become creative, engaged adults in the Kirkland community.
KTUB will host three musical theater performances by Studio East. Get ready for some cabaret!
Kirkland Library

The Kirkland Library is a welcoming space for learning, discovery, and enrichment. In addition to books, computer access, and digital media, the library hosts story-times, workshops, author talks, and performances. The library shares a campus with Peter Kirk Park as well as the Peter Kirk Pool and Kirkland Teen Union Building, inviting people of all ages to visit.
Marco Cortez will perform at the Kirkland Library on Saturday, October 4. He’ll play Latin American music for children and families.
