The City of Kirkland is committed to the health and safety of both residents and visitors as our top priority. In compliance with Governor Inslee’s Safe Start re-opening plan, many 2020 signature Kirkland Events are on ‘hold’, have been cancelled, or are being rescheduled. Please check our events calendar frequently. We hope to welcome you to our shores soon to experience all that Kirkland has to offer. In the meantime, please stay healthy.
Annual Events & Festivals
Located on the shores of Lake Washington just a stone’s throw from Seattle, Kirkland offers the conveniences of a big city with the more intimate feel of a small town. Our smorgasbord of signature events and festivals reflect our “big heart, little city” culture, while emanating our strong sense of community, charming vibe, and inclusive atmosphere. Events in Kirkland are gloriously framed by our stunning waterfront parks, compelling displays of public art, award-winning restaurants and a distinct, Kirkland-style edginess that invites exploration.
Our annual events and festivals help to further define our community as one filled with promise, hope, resilience, and most of all, fun!
If you are interested in spending your day alongside Lake Washington, we have a slew of exciting celebrations that merge Marina Park and our downtown shopping district. No matter the time of year, events held at Marina Park are accompanied sparkling waters, gentle waves, and smooth breezes, as Seattle glimmers across Lake Washington like an old friend.
Picture yourself arriving at a close friend’s breezy, carefree backyard barbecue, filled with friendly guests, delicious foods and the best in local craft ales and wines. That is exactly what a Marina Park festival is like! Add in live music and you have Kirkland Summerfest, held every year in July. You, along with your friends and family, are cordially invited to come on in, grab a spot in the City’s lakefront backyard and enjoy all that we have to offer.
