How to Make the Most of Small Business Saturday in Kirkland
Small Business Saturday is coming! Here’s how to celebrate.
Black Friday isn’t the only shopping holiday in November. Small Business Saturday follows it each year, encouraging shoppers to put their dollars back into their local community. This year, Small Business Saturday falls on November 28.
Small Business Saturday is the calmer cousin to Black Friday. It’s not about doorbusters, lines, midnight openings, and consumer chaos. In Kirkland, it’s a day out in our community centered on more than just shopping. It’s about supporting our businesses and contributing to the strength of our local economy.
Want to make the most of your Small Business Friday? Here’s how.
1. Fuel Yourself at a Local Cafe or Restaurant

Small Business Saturday isn’t just about the goods you buy. Charge up for your shopping with a coffee, meal, or snack at one of Kirkland’s many delicious cafes or restaurants. If you need ideas, browse the list here.
2. Make It a Park-Shopping Combo in Juanita
Wine and doughnuts and flowers, oh my! Juanita is another great option for Small Business Saturday, especially if you’re looking for great eats or nail and spa services. Plus, you can tie your shopping trip to a park visit, weather permitting.
3. Bring Your Dog to Snyder’s Corner
There’s plenty to do around the Bridle Trails Shopping Center and Snyder’s Corner area, especially for pet parents. You can find pet goods, a hardware store, spa services, and plenty of restaurants. Take a break from shopping to bring your dog to the park on the Redmond side, if you have one.
4. Stroll and Shop Downtown
If you’re in the mood to look as much as buy, head downtown and enjoy strolling Park Lane, Kirkland Urban, and the rest of this bustling area. Browse boutiques, stop and snack, or enjoy art. The downtown lights add to the magic.
5. Dine out in Houghton
The Houghton area boasts tasty cuisine from around the world. Challenge yourself to sample something new. You can also schedule a massage nearby to relax before the holidays ramp up.
6. Finish Your Shopping List at the Village at Totem Lake
Some people put off their holiday shopping, and others knock it out in one day. If you’re ready to get it done, head to the Village at Totem Lake. There’s something for everyone on your list, whether they’d like a box full of toys, fancy sweets, clothing, or beauty products.
7. Celebrate at WinterFest

Small Business Saturday coincides with WinterFest, a seasonal celebration presented by Kirkland Urban and the Kirkland Downtown Association. Finish your day of shopping local by joining the festivities at Kirkland Urban. There will be live entertainment, a tree lighting, treats, carols, crafts, and more seasonal fun.
