Korean cuisine is a newcomer on Kirkland’s vibrant dining scene. The region’s critical mass of jjigae (that comforting staple not unlike a stew) and bulgogi is mostly found in suburbs like Lynnwood and Federal Way, and along Aurora Avenue in Shoreline. The Tacoma suburb of Lakewood has a proper Koreatown. Lately, though, a smattering of Korean restaurants have opened their doors in Kirkland’s diverse neighborhoods. Fiery kimchi and spicy gochujang chili paste are wending their way into the Kirkland dining scene, and we love the infusion of flavor!
