(Nearly) Tool-less Teacups Workshop
May 23, 2026 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Too often in the arts we feel a dependency on tools, but with clay the greatest tools are the ones you already possess. Your hands! Learn the power of tool-less creation through making a set of tea cups (minimum 2) in this workshop. We will explore the philosophy of creating through rhythm and how that way of thought can be applied to achieve consistency without tools. This way of thought will be directly applied in pinch pots (creating a pot from a single ball of clay) and surface decoration. We will apply underglazes for color during the class and later coat them in a clear glaze. Any level of experience is welcome, whether you are a beginner and want an accessible introduction or are an experienced potter who wishes to delve deeper into the world of pinch pots and gain a new perspective on working with clay.
