Locally Owned

Kirkland is home to a number of small businesses that are locally owned, that source materials and goods locally, and that sell locally made products. Local businesses are at the heart of Kirkland’s unique community.  It is vital to their survival and to Kirkland’s small city culture that residents and visitors support and patronize these valued enterprises.  Shopping local has never been so important as it is now in the wake of the Covid19 global pandemic. Small businesses everywhere, and Kirkland is no exception, have been hard hit by stay at home orders and mandated closures. Many Kirkland businesses have worked hard to pivot, and to find innovative ways to carry on, even if storefronts are closed, and to serve the needs of customers. The What’s Open Eastside interactive map is an excellent resource for finding and supporting local businesses as they weather the storm that is Covid19.
