Sushi

The waters of Puget Sound provide world-class, fresh seafood daily. The seafood is different from that found in Tokyo Bay and the waters surrounding Japan, however the regions are similarly bound by the elements of ocean, islands and surrounding mountains. Seattle and the Eastside have a deep history of Japanese immigration and influence. This heritage combined with access to excellent​ ​fish create an environment ripe for some of the best sushi in the world. Chefs from Japan and their disciples have built an empire of excellent sushi restaurants in the region, working with local delicacies such as  geoduck, sockeye salmon, Alaskan spot prawns, and B.C. herring. Kirkland is home to some excellent sushi establishments which embody the heritage and harvest of the area.
