Over 30,000 people experience homelessness in King County each year. The number one cause? Lack of affordable housing — A family of four currently needs an average income of over $100,000 to afford housing on the Eastside. Homeless children are our most vulnerable community members and are at higher risk of illness and delayed development. Attain Housing (formerly KITH) helps homeless and at-risk families with children in King County to become stable and self-sufficient. First, Attain Housing stabilizes families in 37 Attain Housing apartments and in units owned by others. Then, Attain Housing assists the families with services, including case management, which helps them make lasting life changes, leading to permanent housing. In 2019, our transitional housing program supported 46 families consisting of 63 adults and 100 children. The majority of families we serve in our housing program are headed by single mothers who are escaping domestic violence with their children. Attain Housing is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All donations are tax-deductible.
